Activities

We are currently working on the programme for 2025 and will have more information here as we start to finalise our plans.

Overview

Workshop sessions during the day will cover a wide variety of skills and interests across the four main areas of Folk Music, Dance, Song and Craft. Taster sessions and introductory workshops will be ideal for beginners and people wanting to try something new, while intermediate-level workshops will be aimed at those with more experience.

The workshops will take place in classrooms and halls across the school site. In addition the beer tent (or ‘pub’) will provide a focal point for activities such as music sessions and morris dancing.

Craft

The Craft Café will be the centre for our Craft activities.

Family Festival

New for 2025 will be the Family Festival. This is part of the main programme and will feature activities that are particularly suitable for children and families but also open to adults.

Evening Activities

A range of activities to suit all ages and interests will take place each Evening.

Around the Site

Sessions in the Pub
Come and have a drink in the pub, and join in the singing, or just listen to what’s going on.

Mummers
Join the band of actors who will perform this traditional-ish entertainment for our enjoyment.

Lantern Parade
Watch – or join – the parade around the site, with music and (non-flammable!) lanterns

Morris in the Village Square
On the final afternoon, all those who have been attending workshops will have the chance to dance out and show off! There may be the chance to have a try if you have missed it all weekend!

Volunteering

As always, we will be relying completely on volunteers to run all the workshops and also to help out with stewarding the event.

For the evening ceilidhs we will be looking for volunteers to lead the bands and to play in them, and to call the dances.

If you are interested in volunteering in any way then please get in contact via our Volunteer page.
